The Barbados Community College Industry Services Unit invites applications for admission to certificate courses commencing in March, 2014.
Registration closes one week before the start date of each course. Application forms can be collected from the Office of the Registrar or can be downloaded here. Fees are payable at the Accounts Department between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. and are non-refundable after the second week of commencement of courses. The ISU reserves the right to alter programme availability, content and requirements to meet changing conditions. Occupational Safety & Health (Intermediate Level)
This course is designed to enhance participants’ knowledge and skills, beyond the basic level, to effectively organise and operate a safety programme for any size or type of industry. Participants will develop competencies in health and safety monitoring, accident investigation, job function evaluation and improved advocacy of health and safety in the workplace. This course is the second of three that prepare participants to meet the Occupational Safety and health Level 3, National Vocational Qualification Barbados (NVQB); the course relates specifically to U18203, U18603 and U18703.
Reinforce the major tenets of OSH policies, procedures and operational standards
Equip participants to conduct in-house OSH needs assessment and analysis to enhance the management of safety and health hazards

Advanced QuickBooks is a practical course designed for persons who are desirous of becoming competent in the use of specialized accounting software. Advanced QuickBooks prepares course participants for invoicing customers, recording payments, paying bills, managing inventory and analysing financial data. Participants will be equipped with the knowledge and skill needed to handle cheques, deposits and tax returns. This advance course will utilise some Quick books functions available only in Premier versions. Students will be introduced to new techniques for entering multifaceted transaction in real life business situations that are usually difficult to manipulate by most QuickBooks users.
