Barbados Community College Hospitality Institute invites applications for the following internationally recognised Professional Part-time courses offered for the period 11 September until 22 December 2017.

Baking Technology Level I This introductory course will provide the student with a basic knowledge of Cake and Pastry Making techniques and practical competence while learning new skills within the patisserie department.  Students will be introduced to traditional cake and pastry specialties suitable for different food outlets.  Pastry Chefs, General Cooks Sunday 5:00 – 8:00 $595.00
Bar Operations This course will introduce participants to mixology and the techniques used in the service of beverages.  Bar operations with emphasis on management and operational controls will be examined.  Bartenders, Waiters, Community Tuesday 5:00 - 8:00 $595.00
Events Management This course introduces the learner to the methods and techniques used in planning, organizing, promoting and delivering major events. Event Planners, Aspiring Event Planners Wednesday 5:00 – 8:00 $595.00
Front Office Reception and Sales Procedures This course introduces the participants to the fundamental elements of Front Office and Sales.  Property Management Systems will be examined. Hotel Front Office, Receptionists, Sales Staff, Workers Wednesday 5:00 – 8:00 $595.00
Food, Beverage &  Hospitality Operations Management This course is an overview of Management in Food and Beverage Hospitality Operations.  Principles of strategic management will be emphasized.  Managers and Aspiring Managers, Executive Chefs and Supervisors  Thursday 5:00 - 8:00 $595.00
Basic Professional Housekeeping  This course outlines the functions of the housekeeping department in various organizations and the skills necessary for proficiency in line housekeeping duties. Room Attendants, Villa Attendants, General Public Thursday 5:00 – 8:00 $595.00
Basic Trade Cookery This course is designed to introduce the participant to the basic principles of food preparation and presentation with special reference to the correct use of tools, equipment and food commodities.  Sound sanitation practices and safety procedures will also be examined.  Aspiring Cooks & Chefs from Hotels, Hospitals, Restaurants, Villas and Community Saturday 9:00 – 12:00 $595.00
Applied Information Technology This course is designed to provide participants with the knowledge of the range applications of computers, generally and in the Hospitality Industry. Hardware and software components will be examined.  All Industry Personnel Saturday 1:00 – 4:00 $595.00
