Barbados Community College Hospitality Institute invites applications for the following internationally recognised professional part-time courses offered for the period Monday, 09 September until Friday 20 December 2019.

Baking Technology

Level I


This introductory course will provide the student with a basic knowledge of Cake and Pastry Making techniques and practical competence while learning new skills within the patisserie department.  Students will be introduced to traditional cake and pastry specialties suitable for different food outlets.

This course will introduce participants to mixology and the techniques used in the service of beverages.  Bar operations with emphasis on management and operational controls will be examined.

Entrepreneurship for the Hospitality Sector  Are you open to new challenges and opportunities? This introductory course will give you the skills for the operation of small businesses.  The essentials of starting your own business from the generation of an idea through the actual operations will be examined. Special focus will be on the hospitality/tourism industry.

Small business owners & persons planning to set up hospitality/tourism businesses.

Self-employed persons looking to enhance their skills in business operations.
