Business Manager – Hotel PomMarine

The Hotel PomMarine is a bona fide hotel and serves as the primary training facility for all students of the Hospitality Institute. The primary function of this position is the marketing and business development of the hotel into a viable commercial entity aimed at sustained revenue growth.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Oversee the overall operational functions of the hotel
  • Responsible for the preparation, presentation and subsequent achievement of the hotel’s annual Operating Budget, Marketing & Sales Plan and Capital Budget
  • Manage on-going profitability of the hotel, ensuring revenue and guest satisfaction targets are met and exceeded
  • Responsible for presenting the hotel product and services in an attractive and professional manner through the use of literature, promotional materials inclusive of social media and web content with innovative, creative, fresh concepts and approaches
  • Assisting with preparing and participating in contractual proposals and negotiations as may be necessary
  • Liaising with the Director of the Hospitality Institute on student training and internship programming

 

Education

 

  • A Bachelor Degree in Hospitality and/or Tourism Management from a recognized university
  • A Diploma/Degree in Marketing would be an asset

 

Experience

 

  • At least 5-7 years of experience in Marketing and Sales Management in tourism and hospitality field with demonstrated experience in developing marketing plans.
  • Excellent public speaking, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strategies and policies for the Hotel, and plan revenue/profit producing initiatives.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
