Invitation to Tender for the Provision of a CAFETERIA SERVICE

Tenders are invited for the operation of a Cafeteria Service at the Barbados Community College, “Eyrie”, Howells Cross Road, St. Michael for a period of two years, on the basis of the payment of a concession fee as a fixed amount payable per semester in advance.

 

  1. The successful tenderer will be required to cater for day and evening students, as well as staff of the Barbados Community College. These groups total approximately 3,524. Catering shall be required during the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday to Friday and at such other times as may be specified by the College.  Hot meals, snacks, tea, coffee and soft drinks should be served. Tenderers should submit with the tender, a price list of items that will be offered for sale. 
  1. Basic kitchen equipment including stoves, deep freeze and steel storage racks will be provided. The successful tenderer will be required to provide all other equipment needed. 
  1. In addition to the concession fee, the successful tenderer will be required to pay all utility charges, a quarterly charge for rodent and termite treatment and a fee for the use of the premises during the summer vacation. All charges are subject to review. 
  1. The successful tenderer will be responsible for the cleanliness of the Cafeteria, and must comply with the provisions of the Health Services Food Hygiene Regulations 1969 and the Health Services (Restaurant) Regulations 1969. 
  1. The successful tenderer will be required to provide a written reference verifying their ability to manage and operate a facility of a similar size. 
  1. Tenders must be submitted in a sealed envelope marked “TENDER FOR THE OPERATION OF A CAFETERIA SERVICE AT THE BARBADOS COMMUNITY COLLEGE” and addressed to The Chairperson, Board of Management, Barbados Community College, “Eyrie”, Howell’s Cross Road, St. Michael to reach her not later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, May 24, 2019
  1. No tender will be considered unless it complies with the conditions set out in this notice. 
  1. The Board of Management does not bind itself to accept the highest or any tender.
