Here are a few things you need to know about studying at BCC:

Core courses

You’ve heard about a core but what does it mean? A core is a compulsory course. You may view some of the courses as irrelevant to your particular choice of study, but this is not so. Remember that your area of study is just part of your overall education. To function in society you must understand how it is governed, the importance of communication and mathematical reasoning. The four core courses are:

  1. Caribbean Politics and Society
  2. Ethics and Citizenship
  3. English and Communication
  4. Practical Mathematics

Electives

An elective is a course selected from courses that are outside of your major area of study. You select the electives that you believe will enhance your development. These courses are found in three categories:

  1. Social Sciences
  2. Humanities
  3. Physical/Biological
