In recognition of the growing importance of creative practice of all kinds to the economic and cultural life of Barbados and the wider Caribbean region, from September 2016 Barbados Community College is introducing a new Bachelor’s programme that will make a significant contribution to both professional expertise and individual career opportunity within this sector.

The emphasis of the programme is strongly based in learning-by-doing, and students will apply taught theory through a wide range of unusual and challenging assessment tasks including, for example, research, idea generation, digital communication techniques, proposal writing, strategic planning, development presentations, Q&A, simulated consultancy and live creative projects. This breadth of experience ensures that students develop real competence and effectiveness in turning ideas into reality, which is of course an important transferable skill, offering infinite professional applications throughout the world.

Course work will be deliberately varied and challenging, with students ‘learning by doing’ and building up a wide-ranging portfolio of experience and demonstrable knowledge.
