Overview

This course is an exposition of the conceptional, technical and aesthetic knowledge and skills involved in producing visual stories. It is designed to teach students the principles of producing content by combining a storyline with video, audio and digital images. Based on programme objectives, students conceptualize ideas, write treatments and scripts, capture video and audio, and edit visual products.

Objectives

At the end of this course, students should be able to: 

  1. Utilize the skills and knowledge taught to produce video projects that are creative, engaging, entertaining and informative for intended audiences.
  2. Demonstrate proficiency in the use of video production equipment and software including cameras, lights, microphones, and editing platforms.
  3. Create an e-portfolio of work showcasing content producing processes and final products including clustering, treatments, scripts, storyboards and videos.
  4. Demonstrate ability to work independently and as a member of a team to produce video projects.
