Overview

The Division of Science offers an Associate Degree in Applied Sciences Programme - Agriculture.

The programme will be structured over five semesters enabling students to integrate theoretical knowledge with day-to-day farming activities on a continuous basis.

The first semester will contain some bridging courses which will expose students to the basic scientific principles needed for the course of study. In the other four semesters, there will be four attachments sessions which will give students practical experience.

Admission Requirements

The minimum requirements for entry into the College are:

  • Four (4) passes at CSEC General Proficiency Level with Grade 1, 2, or 3 (from June 1998 only) OR
  • Four (4) passes at GCE Ordinary Level with Grades A, B
  • Polytechnic Certificate/City & Guild - cf. Technology.
  • Any qualification considered by the College to be equivalent to the abovementioned.

NB: English Language must be included in the four passes.

In addition the Division of Science usually requires:

  • A pass at Grade 3 or higher in Mathematics or a science subject.

Description of Courses

On completion of all the required courses with a minimum grade point average of 2.0, a student will earn the Associate Degree in Applied Sciences - Agriculture.

* Courses with Farm Attachment

In addition to the above courses which lasts for ten (10) weeks, a Farm Attachment will be done at the end of each semester starting Semester II, Year 1. The attachment period is for five (5) weeks.
