STOREKEEPER
JOB TITLE: Storekeeper
SALARY: Z33-24
REPORTS TO: Senior Storekeeper
DIRECT REPORTS: Tutors-Food and Beverage, Chef Instructors, Tutor I-Hotel Operations and Tutor I-Academic
CORE JOB ELEMENTS:
Summary of Core Functions
To operate the stores area in relation to stock control, purchasing, receipt, issuing and Requisitioning
operations.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Responsible for ordering all necessary items for Institute’s operations.
2. Responsible for receiving items from suppliers, carries out relevant checks.
3. Responsible for supervising the appropriate unpacking and storage.
4. Responsible for controlling stocks in relation to maintaining quantity and quality.
5. Responsible for keeping up to date on all relevant legislation in relation to food safety and standards.
6. Responsible for maintaining hygiene standards and checks.
7. Responsible for maintaining all relevant records.
8. Responsible for maintaining security and other checks in relation to material/equipment storage.
9. Responsible for practicing correct standards of dress and social skills.
10. Responsible for providing training as required.
11. Responsible for preparing basic stock and sauces as required by Chefs.
12. Performs any other reasonable duty that he/she may be called upon to do by any duly authorized person.
WORKING CONDITIONS
• May be required to work outside of normal working hours.
• Required to interact with varied range of individual and stakeholders.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
Establishes and maintains professional working relationships with members of staff, other government and non-governmental organizations and members of the public.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
• CSEC General Proficiency I or II or equivalent in English, Mathematics and/or Bookkeeping; and five (5) years practical experience in stores.
• Knowledge of hotel kitchen operations would be an asset.
• Knowledge and use of the computer would be an asset.
KNOWLEDGE
