Bookshop

Why BCC Bookshop?

The Book Source is conveniently located on campus. It caters to the needs of over 3,900 students and staff. The Book Source offers required and recommended materials for courses as well as a broad range of services.

The bookshop is open:

  • Mondays 8.30am – 6.00pm
  • Tuesdays & Thursdays 8.30am – 6.00pm
  • Fridays 8.30am – 5.00pm

 

Special Order Service

In the event that a book is not in stock at the bookshop, students can place a special order. Books bought on special order can be collected within three to four business days depending on the availability of the book.

Printing & Binding Services

The Book Source provides a facility where students can have their assignments/projects printed in colour and professionally bound. There is also a photocopying service offered.

Counselling & Placement

Counselling and Placement Services assist students in developing skills that will help them apply themselves effectively to College studies, enhance their personal development and prepare them for career success.

Health Clinic

The Student Health Clinic is open to all students of the Barbados Community College, whether full-time or part-time. The Health Clinic is located directly opposite the Library.

Library

The college has a library of over 26,000 volumes including periodicals. It caters to all Divisions and membership is open to all members of the academic and administrative staff and to all registered students upon the completion of a library registration card obtainable at the Circulation Desk.

The purpose of the College Library is to meet the information needs of all sections of the diverse and expanding College community. It services all the bachelor’s degree, associate degree, diploma and certificate programmes offered by the college, as well as the research needs of the teaching and non-teaching staff. Consequently, the Library continues to shift from a largely print based entity to a fully equipped and dynamic Learning Resource Centre. The Library embraces a variety of information formats in response to the demands from its clientele.

The services offered by the College Library to ensure that its customers’ needs are met include:

  • Cataloguing and classification
  • Conservation/Repair and Processing
  • Systems Administration
  • Circulation
  • Inter-library loan services
  • Database searches

Student Affairs

The Student Affairs Department handles many aspects of the students’ relationship with the College, from application to graduation and beyond.

Students' Guild

Whether you’re a part or full-time student, you’re represented by the Students Guild. This organisation is managed by the Guild Council, which comprises the President, Vice-President, and a representative from each Division. There are also committees responsible for sports, cultural activities, publications and welfare.
