Ms Cheryl Licorish is a USA Board Certified Counsellor. She holds a M.A. degree in Education in Community Counselling from Andrews University, Michigan, a B.A. degree in History and Social Studies with Education from The University of the West Indies (Cave Hill), and a certificate in Education for Teaching from Erdistion Teachers’ College, Barbados. Before pursuing a career in counselling, Ms Licorish worked for several years as a Primary School Teacher. She is MBTI Steps 1, 2 & 3 certified. Her therapeutic interests include grief & loss and developmental issues pertaining to college students. She is also interested in anxiety, depression and suicide issues. Ms. Licorish believes counselling is a collaborative process and seeks to provide a supportive environment that empowers individuals to reach their goals. She uses a variety of short approaches, including Solution-Focused Brief Therapy.
Miss Callender has been a counsellor for over 7 years. She has worked with adults and college & university students but has a special interest in children & adolescents. Her clinical interests are learning disorders, autism spectrum disorders and developmental disorders. She has taught the BCC elective Introduction to Psychology for 7 years and has been an EducationUSA Adviser from 2013. Miss Callender takes pride in assisting students in their pursuit of Higher Education and enhancing their personal development. Miss Callender practices from a cognitive behavioural therapy and reality therapy framework. She is MBTI Steps 1 & 2 certified.
Mrs. Collymore has been a board certified counsellor for over 15 years; she has also been involved in HIV & AIDS education for 11 years. She has worked with adults, college & university students and at-risk youth. Her clinical interests are self-harm, mood disorders and relationship issues. Mrs. Collymore practises from a cognitive behavioral, solution focus and relational framework and is MBTI Steps 1 & 2 certified.
Mrs. Holligan has been a member of the Counselling & Placement team since 2014, but has served in various departments at the BCC for over twenty years. Previous to joining the CPC team Mrs. Holligan worked in the Barbados Language Centre and the Library. She enjoys interacting with and assisting the students.
Ms. Nurse has been advising students on career issues and matters relating to job preparation and placement for over 11 years. She liaises with both the private and public sector to source jobs for BCC’s students and also teaches an elective course - Preparation for the World of Work. Ms. Nurse has extensive training in the area of administration. She has a passion for personal and professional development and has pursued numerous courses in these areas. She is MBTI Steps 1 & 2 certified.
