Student Ambassador Programme

The BCC Student Ambassador Programme is an exciting student organization of highly selected first year students who represent the College in their second year. Ambassadors promote the College’s programmes and services. They assist with on-campus special events such as orientation, convocation, graduation and seminars, in addition to leading campus tours and participating in off-campus recruitment efforts.

 

How to become a Student Ambassador?

  • Maintain a minimum “Cumulative GPA of 2.75”
  • Be in your first year of school
  • Full-time student
  • Have a genuine interest in assisting others
  • Strong work ethic
  • Positive attitude and enthusiasm
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (trainable)
  • Apply at the Counselling & Placement Centre during the second semester when registration opens

  • Favourite Activity: I enjoy reading books, listening to music and swimming.
  • Favourite place on campus:  The shaded bench area close to the Fine Arts Department.
  • Advice to Students: Don't be intimidated by a new environment. Everyone has or is experiencing the same thing as you. Be confident and make use of the opportunities!

  • Programme/Majors: Spanish, Italian, and German for Business and Tourism.
  • Favourite Activity: I like to read and write fictional stories.
  • Favourite place on campus:  You can find me on the benches in front of the Barbados Language Centre.
  • Advice to Students: Don't let anything or anyone distract you from your goals in life.

  • Advice to Students: Find and surround yourself with those who add value to your life and want to see you succeed. Be prepared to fail but never ever give up!

  • Former School: Queen’s College Programme/Majors: French, Spanish and Italian for Business and Tourism.
  • Favourite Activity: Reading (fantasy girly ‘till I die)
  • Favourite place on campus:  Language Centre Student Lounge.
  • Advice to Students: Find a healthy balance between your school life and personal life. It is important to decompress and take time for yourself, but try not to let relaxation time cut into work time and vice versa. Be sure to make connections with other students around the campus but choose your friends carefully! Align yourself with other students who are serious about their education.

  • Former School: Queen's College Programme/Majors: Architectural Studies Favourite Activity: Drawing, travelling, skateboarding, trying new activities.

  • Advice to Students: Try your best to make friends in separate divisions from you.

  • Favourite Activity: Reading, baking, and watching movies from various genres.

  • Advice to Students: If you have a question speak up, you are not the only one. Some advice I would like to share with new students is if you have a question.

  • Advice to Students: Always talk to your tutors when you are unclear about something.

  • My favourite activities: Reading, exploring new places, listening to music, exploring nature and taking pictures.
  • My favourite spot on campus: The large tree near Eyrie House
  • My advice to new students: Don't be afraid to explore the different places and activities the campus has to offer and be open to meeting new people and making friends.

  • My favourite activities: Enjoying a book or movie and participating in other clubs

  • My advice to new students: Get involved and explore all the opportunities our campus offers. Don't hesitate to reach out, make friends and make the most of your time here.

  • My advice to new students: Always try and stay on top of your assignments. Don’t lag and wait till last minute as that is when you start to become overwhelmed.

  • Programme/Majors: Geography, Environmental science, and Mathematics.
  • My favourite activities: Listening to music from various genres, going for drives, and practicing self-care skills such as face routines and hair care.

  • My advice to new students: Never silence yourself. If you dislike something or feeling uncertain, please do not be afraid to express your opinion.
